We
are the People that are FREE! |
|
Passage people are
those that have been met at anchorages or marinas or beaches
or whatever along the way. They are featured perhaps because
they are unique and special or because they are not, rather because
they are just typical examples but of an extraordinary group.
By being cruising boaties, all of these people have stepped off
the well trod path and done something exceptional with their
lives. |

Jim
Hayes, volunteer at The
Whitsunday Sailing Club, & his mob (possibly in order
), left to right:
Michael, Xavier, Nicole, Jim, Rick, Tom, Sheree, Patrick, Michael,
Hayden, Lachlan, Dylan, Chris & Ryan.
Jim Hayes is the biggest kid in the centre. Its the quietly
achieving volunteers that add so much value to the community.
Jim has been around Airlie Beach for 20 years, and sailing with
the kids for 15. I wonder how many youngsters that learned to
handle a Sabot from Jim are out there now... After working in
the bare boat business for many years, Jim has been working at
Marlin Marine for the last few.
We feel Jim deserves recognition...Good on ya Jim! |

ACCORD
Julius puts in the hours
driving his taxi around Townsville. As soon as he figures he
has paid his dues he is out there. Julius will be
at the helm with a few days growth, bags under his eyes, and
a big grin!

SPIRIT
OF KALAHARI
Maureen & Barry are from South Africa, but seem more residents
of wherever they are. They have been ambassadors of good will
over a large part of the South pacific. Laughing off bouts of
sea sickness, they keep going...I think they are in the Indian
Ocean now...Maybe Chagos?

ketch,
WHITE BIRD
We are Kay & Bob. I publish this paper because we sensed
that it was needed, and no one else was doing it. We have done
the work of getting it going so you can have a voice
and a part in it. It cant be about you without you!
cheers
