A NOTE FROM BOB:

Greetings to all you who sent in letters in response to our semi retirement notice...

I am currently in Asia with BareBones and on the move. Kay has been replying to you and forwarding all the letters you have sent and I have been very pleasantly surprised at the response. WOW! I can't respond to all letters individually, at least not right now. The warmth expressed in them has been heart lifting. Every one has been a treasure.

TCP was never about the money (good thing!). TCP is an idea, a means of connecting a people that were not inclined to be joiners in anything (except a spontaneous beach party) but who could benefit from the camaraderie and clout of the group. We never intended nor could we have changed the nature of the sailing community.

Look after each other,
Sincerely,
Bob

November, 2017

Dear TCP Readers,

As we alluded we would do in the last edition of The Coastal Passage, we have investigated the idea of returning to print. However, the changing landscape of the newspaper business in Australia, Queensland in particular, makes it more difficult and expensive than before. We have not completely ruled out a print edition in the future, just not at this time.

We have also made the decision that we will not be producing the online TCP every two months. For over 14 years we have never missed a beat, but now it is time to take a break from its production.

We intend to continue to serve the community but at a style and pace that we can manage in our advancing years. The website remains. There we may feature editions when time and material becomes available as well as interesting news, stories and video links, so keep an occasional eye on the home page or your email for a special notice. See the download editions page to be added to our email list.

Cheers,
Bob & Kay
